Friends of the Library Speaker

Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 7:30 PM in the Collins Room at the Library, 25 North Main Street.

Last September, Ipswich resident Elizabeth Kilcoyne walked over 400 miles on the Camino de Santiago in Spain, an ancient path known as The Way of Saint James.  Pilgrims have been walking the path for a 1000 years. They initially walked the way to be cured of their injuries and illnesses by St. James whose remains are buried in a tomb under the cathedral. It took Elizabeth 33 days to finish, walking with a pack on her back and sleeping in hostels. She connected with other "pilgrims" from 24 countries and made a couple of lasting friendships. She will share her experiences which she describes as " humbling physically, mentally and spiritually".

This event, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, is free and open to all;  however, seating is limited.     978-356-6648
